WORK IN PROGRESS

My process begins as my brain spirals in creative thought beginning with the kiln which takes me to what clay to use which leads me to envision what slip might do. How will that contrast with the clay? Perhaps a trail of iron-heavy slip? Then stain with a wash? I see it! How it all dances in the atmosphere of the kiln. My mind flips through the possibilities as I drive to the studio. Once there, my hands in clay, I create the images in my head. My mind continues to spin with ideas. Just one more thing to make it better, more interesting, more dynamic.
